Alaska Injury Prevention Center and Teaching Story were excited to host the Second International Seguridad Media Awards (ISMA) - an opportunity for safety promotion organizations and youth from around the world to share their injury prevention and safety messages with international colleagues. The ISMA awards celebration and screening of entries took place at the 9th World Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Conference in Merida Mexico, March 16-18, 2008.

The purpose of this competition is to recognize excellence in safety and injury prevention messages and to share evaluation of the effectiveness of the messages. This is an opportunity to share what is being done around the world, for all of us to learn from our colleagues, and to celebrate positive media messages.
